Work With Different File Types

Document.Bot is designed for mixed folders. A single workspace can contain PDFs, Word files, spreadsheets, Markdown, notes, images, HTML, and other files.

PDFs

PDFs can be opened in the document viewer. Depending on the file and build, Document.Bot can support page navigation, selected page context, document outlines, extracted text, and password handling.

Use PDF source inspection when page layout or surrounding context matters.

Some PDFs include editable form fields. Depending on your build, Document.Bot can let you inspect or edit AcroForm fields in the viewer, add selected form-field text to chat as page-based context, and review agent-assisted PDF form filling before it writes a file.

For important PDF forms, verify the saved output before sending or filing it. Document.Bot does not create cryptographic digital signatures.

Word, PowerPoint, And Office Documents

Document.Bot can inspect common office documents, including Word and PowerPoint files, and may offer conversion or editing workflows depending on the file type and feature availability.

For important Word documents, review proposed changes carefully before accepting them.

Spreadsheets And CSV Files

Spreadsheets often depend on row context, formulas, and column meanings. Ask Document.Bot to identify the relevant rows or sheets, then inspect the original file before using the answer.

Markdown And Text

Markdown and text files are good for reviewable drafts, notes, reports, and generated outputs. Markdown files may support headings, links, tables, Mermaid diagrams, math rendering, editing, and save behavior depending on the build.

Images

Images can be opened visually. Audio and video files are not supported in the current desktop app.

If you use an image in chat, confirm that your selected AI provider is approved for the image content.

Unknown Or Binary Files

Unknown files should fail safely. Document.Bot may show fallback actions such as opening the file externally or revealing it in the system file manager.

Do not force binary files into text workflows.
